This year’s book club examines the intersection of art, politics and media.  From Shepard Fairey’s now-iconic graphic of President Barack Obama to George Clooney’s The Ides of March, from the OWS movement to the vast industries devoted to creating the visual materials produced for campaigns, from Colbert’s “performance art” to Dick Tuck’s political tricksterism, this topic provides an endless stream of discussion material in an era when visual impressions, sound nanobites and “truthiness” seem to trump facts and substance.  Books are available for purchase in MOCAshop.
